it seems you don't understand Dude read the name of the topic this is literally about people who put in work expecting to be paid. You do you. You are free to write or do whatever you want but bounties are guides written by people with the expectation of being paid. You don't need bounties or the ability to lock them to work on a guide for anything. You can say this talk of money is boring to you because you are only thinking of your own needs and thoughts, but this is some people's income, my own included, and in times like these its more important than ever. SBAllen posted... Howdy all, just another update as a few authors mentioned not hearing back yet. I pinged the team and it turns out that the onboarding process we were planning to use wasn't set up to onboard international authors, only those from the US. This does NOT mean that international authors will be excluded and/or not get paid. It just means that a new contract is going to need to be written. Since almost all of the authors who applied are international, they are wanting to go ahead and get a new contract in place that will work for everyone before sending it out. I've scheduled the earliest possible meeting in order for me to sit down with all the people who need to be included to draft the contract, and will hope to have that done as soon as humanly possible. Again, huge apologies for the delay but when it comes to paying out large amounts of money, companies want to make sure they do it right not just to protect themselves, but also to protect the author. Just keep being patient, please, we're almost at the finish line! Thank you. |

whatever i have no intention of arguing with someone who "doesnt care" about the literal topic of the board. |

I say it's kind of weird since talking about not wanting to be paid when the topic in hand is about the bounties and to those that are currently awaiting payment (if any still are). Spanettone posted... about the authors who will get payed, I'll expect, from now on, their quality will match their payment (or vice versa) I've been kind of thinking about this part. I'd say it's easy to take a look at a guide to see the direction the author went with the guide. Even with me, I can be satisfied with how a guide I did turn out at the time, only to decide later to go back to try reworking this or that with it. Although if it's a game I never played don't think I'd go as far as "look at it to see if it matched what they were paid". Not trying to argue but just wondering is all. On the other hand, thinking that would be checking out guides I got paid for on here as well as what I did for Neoseeker as well to check on their "quality". Spanettone posted... too bad for you but I'm an author and I have something to do with this, expecially from the foreign sideThis topic is about bounties. People who write guides to be paid, to which you have admitted you are not. But I am. Also from a foreign side, nice of you to assume you are the only one here who isn't in the US. (I'm from Pakistan). This topic isn't the place for you to be going on about this make a different one or something your just being arrogant and rude by telling me to go stay in the back. Warhawk posted... I say it's kind of weird since talking about not wanting to be paid when the topic in hand is about the bounties and to those that are currently awaiting payment (if any still are). Quality is hard to really define realistically. Especially for a guide. Currently all guides are paid for based on their Completeness. In other words as long as a guide is as complete as it can be then it meets the basic standards i assume. Thats how i've gone about writing my guides. Thats why quality is hard to define in this case. Bad quality can be anything from bad formatting, punctuation, grammar or the like. Or not being clear etc. I often wait to get feed back before trying to change anything because i cannot judge my own work objectively aside from checking grammar and spelling and the basics. But at the end of the day if a guide provides the necessary information that people want when playing the game and helps them through it thats enough. Thats their based purpose. We aren't writing novels or something super big or important that we need to judge their "quality" if they get the job done then they should be good. That being said if i had to give one complaint it would be that the feed back system isnt very good, most complaints i get on my guide aren't clear, some people give one word answers and well i cant exactly reply to them and find out what the issue is so. |
