FAQ Bounty payouts on hold until January

Howdy all. Just wanted to let everyone know that we won't be able to make any more FAQ Bounty payouts until January. The old CBSi folks are starting to go on break and can't process any more. Hopefully they handled all of the ones I put in for. I've tried following up a few times and haven't heard back.

Going forward, the first thing I plan to work on when we're fully on RV in January is getting the FAQ Bounty payouts back up and running. RV's already committed to making the payments, but we'll just need to figure out the exact process. I'll make a new topic in January once we've figured things out asking for anyone who missed a payment to let me know so I can push it through the new process.

Hopefully all of this will be relatively painless. I'm going to try my best to get the process more streamlined with RV so it doesn't take as long.

Just to update, we're having our first RV meeting about this topic tomorrow, so hopefully we'll have things up and running soon!

Keeping this updated, we've had chats and it sounds like RV will have a much easier process for filing for bounties by having our authors apply to be RV freelancers, so RV can just cut checks for them every pay day assuming a new guide has completed. We're going to talk more about the logistics of how this would work next week and assuming it all makes sense, we can hopefully start getting the ball rolling ASAP.

This method cuts out a lot of the behind the scenes slowdown from the old CBSi process, helps me keep track of payments (CBSi never told me when they made the payments), and makes things more predictable for the authors since there's a specific payday every week.

I breached the topic with them. There wasn't a hard "no", so the door's open. I'd imagine it would be a down the road thing since we're still just getting things up and running and there are other priorities to start with.

For the bounties, will there be paper checks sent out or direct deposit like with CBSI?

To the best of my knowledge, it will be direct deposit.

To update, we are starting to get things set up to be able to onboard contributors into the new program, so please continue to be patient. We are having to build a process to enable the flow of information (i.e. guide status) and they are working on the infrastructure to accept contributors and be able to add them to the payroll system. It's a lot to do but we're all working diligently to get it done. Do bear in mind that we aren't the only site that was acquired by RV, so a lot of things are having to be built for a lot of sites.

Wow all of this sounds great honestly, especially considering how much slower the old way was. If this what will be the results i can definitely wait longer if this is the result. Good luck with getting it all set up.

Another update. A lot of the backend stuff is done, waiting for the legal team to sign off on everything.

Will there also be an update on the FOTM and ROFM lists? Last one was in June 2020.
