I probably stuck with 79 probably since that was the limit back in the day when I started.

Sometimes I did 78 just to be safe.

80, though I stuck with 79 for some guides I wrote.

I used 80 for years without issue.

When the new upload system was introduced there was an issue with special characters (like overscores) that caused long lines to wrap, but that was resolved.

Today I've just done my first update for a couple of months and I've got a line break after every full 80 line. :6

Update: There was another issue with the uploader which has been resolved today. (thanks!)

Old skool ASCII FAQers can now enjoy the full width! ;)

(You can have 80 characters per line again.)

Huh. Is there a reason to keep the 80 character limit?
