* To write a Guide/ FAQs for the game that i played during my childhood, as a tribute and documentation so that they'll not be forgotten.

Kind of how it was when I wrote a guide for a few games that I grew up playing like from the early to mid-90s.

Yes, I always wanted to write a guide for Suikoden because it was the first JRPG I ever played and I loved it so much (and I thought ALL RPGs were like that!). I started one, but never finished it. Of course, it has many FAQs already and that's always off-putting.
The bells haven't stopped ringing yet.

My goal is simply to clear the project list I came up with when I first started writing, back in 2014 and years before I joined this place.

The list is quite big, topping at 30 games as of now. I'm not sure if all those projects can be posted here, due to already existing content or the own nature of the guide, but I'm sure not many of those projects can't be posted here in one way or another.

Other than that, I have no goals of any kind. I've never had them, to be honest, I just write because I like to do it and because it's a way to refresh and improve my English, like others have said before me.

They're more like challenges than goals:

- Write a guide for every letter of the alphabet (missing L, X, Y, Z)
- Write 100 complete FAQs (currently at 94)

I wanted to win FotM for every calendar month (not in a single year), just for the heck of it.

Nowadays it's just to write a guide again. Games these days are kinda bleh with the overexposure of sequels, remakes, and remastered games so it's hard to find one enjoyable enough to write for.

In general, I think I kinda said to myself "you did it" when I received my first donation over 100$.

This becomes my other goal.

To tell the truth, I just received my first donation yesterday after three/four years of my writing career. The amount is waaaay lower than 100$ but it motivates me to keep providing good guide to the readers.

As mentioned, I just said "I did it." to myself.
First FOTM won 05/26/2017, FOTM wins/attempts: 3/4, first ROTM won 01/06/2018, ROTM wins/attempts: 1/5
First COTM won 08/10/2018

I got a $10 donation from an email belonging to a state senator (not one of the two senators from each state, but a member of the state's senate). Was kind of weird. Only got one $100 donation. People love their old CRPGs, though.

Not sure I ever really had a goal, I started writing guides so my games would last longer in college, and as an outlet to talk about said games. I did feel pretty good the first time somebody told me my guide was better than the official guide, though.

Speaking of donations and whatnot, I was once given $20 for helping out one of the other writers with a bit of editing of their guide for them years ago. If I remember it was for Rambo for the NES, didn't ask for anything for helping but was given a little bit for the assist.

I once set a goal to write a guide for all the original five Carmen Sandiego games and all the Super NES Madden games. Quite an interesting combination of genres!

I remember an old user (Crazyreyn? Is that the right name?) maintained a chart of the most prolific GameFAQs contributors, and I tried to make it to the top 10 FAQ contributors. That was back when I had way too much free time.
Course clear! You got a card.
