Some of those different names are foreign releases like Megaman is Rockman. Alex Kidd's case would be a Japanese mistranslation as it translates to Alex Kidd's miracle world.

Yes, I know. But those still listed as two different entries in GF. So we need to count them as one game.

The way how the stats were done for the beginning of the project reboot was through the site navigation explained at the end of this post. This link shows ONLY one name per game and the stats were done as listed in this list. Once it was transferred to the current website, I think the games labelled with "The" at the beginning was separated from the "T" stats and moved to the word after "The" (for example, "The Flash" is referred to on the project site as "Flash, The" and part of the "F" stats instead).

At one point, I was starting to update the site to include every game, but stopped doing that because it was taking too much time and there was not much point to it for the project.

Features > Completion Project Stats > FAQs and Guides > All SMS gams stats > Change "do not have a complete guide" to "are listed in the database" > "Change "in the past" to "at any time" > Press "Advanced Search" > Browse through all the pages



EDIT: @selmiak, if I enter all the SMS games into the website, could we just use that information for the statistics instead of updating each letter whenever there is game added to the site?

just changing one number seems a lot easier than adding all the games including releases and author and so on to the database.
If the list is complete though, there should be no misunderstanding anymore.

But that stats confusion might happen again when again someone finds an obscure cartridge with some crappy korean game that has only one copy left on earth. I'd prefer some cool unreleased but fully playable prototype game but chances that this happens are close to 0...

I inadvertently made October a very busy month. I may not get to Predator 2 until November.
