I've been having six day work weeks for a bit and will continue to have them for the next couple weeks, so I wouldn't mind a day off or two. But we keep pressing on.

They say that the most relaxing vacation length is six days (because it's long enough to recharge, but not so long that you start to feel worthless from failing to produce surplus value for your employer). But I'm not sure I buy that.
Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

I'm pretty sure the reason a six day vacation would be so relaxing is that it would drastically cut into the work week before and after the weekend (assuming you work Mon-Fri normally) and would be an excellent way to optimize your PTO.

Yeah, what Jon said makes sense in terms of maximization, but not in terms of relaxation. I need at least a week to stop thinking about work, which means I need at least 2 weeks to actually have some time to relax.

I can't even take a long vacation. It feels stupid and boring.

I had a day off.

I would like another day off.

That said, yeah, when I take like a 9 day vacation, I start feeling crappy like two or three days in from not getting anything done.
