So that's why I haven't posted recently. PMS is my homepage there, so I always check, but it's not on my iPad. Need to bring it in to get fixed, but haven't gotten around to it.

It starts to boot up, doesn't finish, and restarts in a loop. This first happened a few weeks ago. I booted into recovery mode and repaired the disk and it was fine. Now it won't boot into recovery mode. Need to bring it to the Apple store.

Aw man. 95% certainty your hard drive is dying. Luckily it's cheap to replace, and generally user-serviceable (although some Apple hardware is hard to open up). I hope you have backups!

Luckily I do. I made sure to get that after the first sign of the issue.

I got it back from the Apple store today and they said they did some fixes, but didn't need to swap out any hardware. We'll see if it actually was a permanent fix.

I think you'll get another bit of mileage out of it and then need another disk repair. And another and another until you replace hardware.

Yeah, two days is not ideal. Especially since it is not easy to bring in to the store. I don't know why they didn't do a hardware repair.
