I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the level 38 title "? Block" means.
From the Help files (https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/help/18-board-basics): (38) ? Block - Awarded to users with at least 5000 Karma. Wow.
The only thing I can possibly think of is that it means something like; Your level is so high that moderators should block you, because you somehow hacked the GameFAQs website to show your karma as really high or something...
If that's the explaination for this level, that's pretty lame I must say. Also, if you couldn't think of names for the levels, why not just have a level-cap, that would be the final level where you still would get karma, but no more level advancements?
Here are the current user levels after "Level (30) Regular User":
(31) Veteran - Awarded to users with at least 100 Karma. (32) Legend - Awarded to users with at least 250 Karma. (33) Elite - Awarded to users with at least 500 Karma. (34) Icon - Awarded to users with at least 1000 Karma. (35) Idol - Awarded to users with at least 1500 Karma. (36) Ancient - Awarded to users with at least 2000 Karma. (37) Sage - Awarded to users with at least 3000 Karma. (38) ? Block - Awarded to users with at least 5000 Karma. Wow. (39) ??? - Awarded to users with at least 10000 Karma. Seriously? (41) VIP
My suggestion would be something like; "Deity Level 1-3" or something. The Deity idea was actually mentioned by "miikrr_is_back" in this topic: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/573081-hellhole/59002136?page=1
Here's how it would look:
(38) Deity Level 1 - Awarded to users with at least 5000 Karma. (39) Deity Level 2 - Awarded to users with at least 10000 Karma. (40) Deity Level 3 - Awarded to users with at least 20000 Karma.
Every time a new level was reached, it was named ??? as a placeholder (this dates back to at least level 36 if not earlier). Once a handful of users reached that level, they took a community vote to decide the new name; that's where Ancient and Sage came from. For level 38 the users decided to play into the recurring question mark theme by naming it ? Block (named after the Mario block, one of the few noteworthy video game things with a question mark in it).
Yes, it has nothing to do with age or time like the other ones, but this is what the top karma users picked and the admins didn't have a problem with it.
Hey man, LlamaGuy did encrypt the passwords. With what? ROT-13? -CJayC
Ok, thanks for that explanation. I still think it's lame though, in fact I think the mario reference is lamer than my idea but I guess there's a lot of mario fans on this website, so I guess that makes sense.
The next level probably will take something like 20000 karma to reach though. That way SBAllen won't have to worry about anyone ever getting there. I mean, unless they sell shirts again. Raptor might buy a truck full.
