If you get this error message when attempting to install in dosbox off a mounted folder which contains the install files from the floppy version you can install it manually by typing:

mpscopy -c "source drive" "destination drive" and it will decompress the files like the installer just run setup afterwards to setup the sound.

Example your folder with the install files are mounted as A:\ you'd type:
mpscopy -c a: c:\mps\tftd\
