Look familiar? :D

Just a disclaimer, it's not 100% accurate due to technical limitations in Doom (as in, one floor cannot be placed directly on top of another), but you should be able to make out most of the rooms from the game in here.

One other limitation is that under the original Doom rules, you get three keys to work with (Red, Yellow, Blue). Since the RPD has four keys, one of them had to go. I made the door that leads to the basement (that needs the Heart Key) a door that requires hitting a switch to open. Otherwise, the Red Key functions as the Spade Key, the Blue Key functions as the Diamond Key, and the Yellow Key acts as the Club Key.

I made this map around 6 years ago, and I've finally gotten around to redoing most of it. Many parts of my first version of this map were clearly half-assed, and it's a much more accurate version of the game now.

I'd imagine if you know RE2 pretty well, you wouldn't have that much trouble navigating the map. And if you've never played RE2, well, I'm pretty sure this would give you a headache or two. :P

Here's most of the Police Station:

Here's the basement of the Police Station, along with the most of the Sewage Disposal (Leon's H-Shaped boss fight room is cut off from this pic).

Here's the Sewers:

And the Lab (I've done the first half of this, need to finish redoing the second half of it, which is the B-scenario exclusive part of the lab). Also, most of the Factory is off to the left.

You sure this is vanilla compatible? Because a level that big might require a limit-removing sourceport. Can you post the wad so we can play it please?

Looks Brilliant from DoomBuilder, i just want to play it for myself you see.

Also, another guy tried making the mansion in Zdoom format (OpenGL), so 3D Floors etc etc etc. He also added custom weapons to make it more like RE, but last i heard that project was still beta and as good as dead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpxfLJJ28E0

Also, Someone managed to mod RE4's Mercenaries mode into Doom (ZDoom Format) very accurately too.

I've tested it out in Vanilla so far, and from start to finish, it looks good. There have been some minor errors, but they've largely been resolved.

I can't find a good file hosting site to put the WAD up on. Every site is either down or wants you to download what I imagine is a sketchy .exe file.

This WAD also has maps of RE1 and RE3 on it. I've been contemplating doing RE:CVX, but that would require a ton of backtracking through the same areas over and over again, and I haven't had a PS2 to play CVX on in years.

I personally use SpeedyShare, most reliable for me.

Question, How have you managed the enemies, weapons and items? Just similar tier enemies and items where they would usually be in the original RE2? Or has it been completely overhauled to compensate for dooms obviously different gameplay style from RE2? Is the Ammo and such tightly restricted (Something i know can be done in Doom when dvery carefully managed)?

I would play the living hell out of this. I once made RE1-RE3 in Timesplitters 3.....very very very limited to what i could do with that, so this is pretty much a dream come true.

Mindless fanboying aside, Good luck to you with this little project you got going, and thanks for telling us about this.

Here, got a link to the WAD:

http://www.speedyshare.com/7vTHt/download/timmy.wad

RE1 is Map31, RE2 is Map16, and RE is Map18.

RE1 has a secret exit in it....think the Umbrella Lab prison cell....

In my RE1 map, I did the weapons like this:

Shotgun = get at beginning of game
Super Shotgun = Get in room where Shotgun was found in RE game. When picking it up, you activate a crushing ceiling in previous room
Chaingun = Found in that small room where you get Broken Shotgun/Magnum (depending on which RE difficulty you're playing on)
Rocket launcher = Balcony where Forest was
Plasma Gun = In the room that's supposed to be the tiger statue room (where you use jewels)
BFG = the final heliport!

RE2:

Shotgun = Kendo's Gun Shop
SSG = That cabin outside RPD where you get Valve in A scenario
Chaingun = Darkroom
Rocket Launcher = STARS Office
Plasma Gun = Weapon Storage room in RPD B1
BFG = Where you fight the mutated Mr. X

RE3

Shotgun = Same place is was in original game
SSG = STARS Office
Chaingun = The UBCS marine who gets killed from the dogs near the crashed bus
Rocket Launcher = Clock Tower Main Hall (Mine Thrower)
Plasma Gun = Substation
BFG = Found in room where you get Rocket Launcher

For enemies, since there's a lot of empty rooms in RE games, most places got stuffed with zombies and Imps. The Demons were intended to be dogs, and the Lost Souls are crows. When you return to the mansion in my RE1 map, I have Revenants teleport into the mansion (perfect copy of the Hunters IMO :P) I use Arch-viles for bosses like Yawn, Plant 42, Mr. X, etc, and obviously the Cyberdemon for Tyrant. I also use the Cyberdemon for the Birkin fight while going down to the lab, and for the final Mr. X fight.

And the spiders in the sewers are well.......Arachnotrons....

I've done my own runs on these maps. I can tell you that I have just enough ammo to get through each map, so I think it's a challenge.

Good luck with this! I haven't yet experienced the supposed awesomeness that is Doom. I want to one day. It will happen one day! I think. I won't make any promises just in case it doesn't :)

I finished redoing the lab. Good god you should've seen my first version of the lab, it was just utter garbage. I make you go through both the A scenario and B scenario parts of the lab (you enter in through the A scenario part). The exit is on the train (the final boss fight room in A scenario where you fight Birkin the Lion is a secret room). You start the lab out by going to the part of the lab where Birkin got gunned down by the Umbrella troops. The switch in that room opens up the elevator to go to the B scenario part of the lab.

So here's a map of the A scenario half of the lab:

And the B scenario:

I hope each room is recognizable. :)
