Yeah I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet since USA will air anything that might stick.

Do you know the official list of TV shows on strike? I just wanna know to be sure. I think Family Guy and American Dad are on strike (noooooooo!!!!!) but hopefully the Simpsons and South Park aren't.

I'm pretty sure that everything is on strike. I know that they are still airing new Family Guy and American Dad episodes, but I'm not sure if those were made before the strike. A few talk shows returned without their writers, but other than that, expect a lot of game shows and reality tv programs. Have you heard about that new Fox show about people taking lie detector tests and being asked personal questions on television? Sounds like a horrible thing to air.

Yeah they aired some new episodes of Family Guy and American Dad last Sunday, but I think those were made before the strike. Maybe not. I don't think the Simpsons is on strike though, which is funny because a few years ago the writers threatened to go on strike, but never did.

Can you believe it? American Gladiators is pulling in major strong ratings! I thought for sure that would bomb immediately, haha. Goes to show what I know.

Yeah I heard about the show that asks personal questions which will premiere next week I think. I think the show is fixed (without even watching it yet). It just looks like the kind of show that's trying desperately to pull in as many viewers as possible! I'll watch the first episode though, just to see what the big fuss is all about.

I wont. The only reality show I watch is American Idol, and thats only in the beginning to see all the goofballs trying to get on television... but that guy in the Princess Leia Slave Girl costume made me question if I wanted to watch tonight, though morbid curiousity will make me watch to see what horrors will show up tonight.

The first episode of American Idol is pretty fun. I believe many of those kids are only there to get on TV, because they HAVE to know they can't sing worth a damn. Then again, they are at that age when they think they can take on the world, so who knows. I hate Simon though, just like most people. What a bloody, dreadful jerk (I'm actually making fun of him right here using an English accent, but it's impossible to tell in typing words!)

I used to be able to sing before puberty came along. Damn girls, zits and other things! lol

I actually like Simon. I find him hilarious, and its not like the idiots who go on that show just to be on tv don't deserve it. Especially that Princess Leia guy...

I watched the final 5 minutes of it, where some guy dressed up and kept singing the same line over and over, and it got to the point where Simon, Randy and Paula got up on stage with him and started dancing. I think it was a case of the judges finally having enough of bad singers, and just letting loose and saying "screw it!".

Pretty much. Like Simon said though, I'm sure that that song will become a hit. Next year, every joke entrant will probably be singing that song.

I heard an Alice Cooper interview yesterday where he said radio stations are only looking for the next big thing, so they can play a song for only a couple weeks, and then move on to the next big thing after that. Alice said in his time, it wasn't like that. What was interesting was when he said he talked to Elton John about it, and he agreed. I can't imagine the two of them talking to each other. :)

I'm not much of a music fan, but that is true. I assume they are just trying to keep ratings up and keep up with cd's and mp3 players. Otherwise, they would be left in the dust... and I'm not quite sure that they wont be anyways.
