No one has ever found out anything, beyond the fact that it does nothing at all. We can only surmise that Rare put it there to give us something to talk/wonder about, and since there are only five weapon slots in the Warehouse (as opposed to six in every other arena) it's possible that this was some sort of temporary marker, which Rare didn't get around to correcting before they released the game.

Rare NEVER say anything about their games, which is really annoying. There are so many questions I'd like to see answered about PD, but they never seriously answer out questions.

I like games with a lot of mysteries in them. It drives some crazy, but interests people like me.
