Hi. If you lose the sub battle game, do you still get the sub? If yes, how/where do I find it? It will not let me play the sub battle game again. Tia.

You have to make your way towards the Reactor once more; head down the "T" shaped corridor towards the small elevator, you'll find a dog at the bottom of the elevator. Interact with the dog to gain access to the red submarine dock - you can gain the submarine that way.

Two things to note.

A glitch with the encounter rate means that you will always fight the SOLDIER:2nd on the submarine dock in the 3x formation, and the average EXP per battle is the best experience per battle on Disc 2!

Secondly, the red submarine looks waaaay cooler than the grey submarine, I wish there was a way to obtain it *and* obtain all four Huge Materias. Oh well.

BTW, if you have succeeded the previous two missions in Fort Condor and Corel, then you will only miss out on the Huge Blue Materia, provided you do not fail the Rocket Mission. This is not a problem seeing as you will be missing the Bahamut ZERO materia, which can be dug up from Bone Village on Disc 3.

Interesting bit of dialogue too, if you fail the Submarine mini-game and decide to dognap the Shinra Dog before taking the Red Sub.

Yeah, I should have noted that. Your chance of digging up Bahamut ZERO is 10/256 of the top of my head, which isn't great; it's a 3.9% chance.

Still, I have ran playthrough in the past where I'll purposely get the red sub just cus it looks super bad-ass, then grinded for Bahamut ZERO on Disc 3.

Btw, if you missed either Bahamut or Neo Bahamut but you *did* obtain all four Huge Materias, the ZERO cannot be dug up on Disc 3; the check is to see whether or not you failed to obtain the Huge Blue Materia (one or more missions failed, doesn't matter which).

So long as the Huge Blue was missed, ZERO becomes available on Disc 3. Obtain the Huge Blue, and you cannot dig up ZERO, even if you have missed the chance to get ZERO by failing to collect Bahamut/Neo Bahamut.

Bone Village has dank music though so the time investment doesn't matter.
