The amount of times I've ran through this game is incredible, and I'm not specifically talking about a normal playthrough. I'm talking about all the times I've worked with the game to compile lists of Enemies/Formation/Items etc....

I must have run through the game about six or seven times while building my Enemy database, and every time I work on the game in this way I always feel good when hitting certain milestones; escaping Midgar, end of disc 1 etc.

This, right here, has to be one of the longest, most exhaustive projects I think I've ever undertaken, barring the actual main section of my walkthrough, which btw, I think this may end up exceeding it in size (it's already 603 kb ffs, and my entire guide is 2.27 mb):

Enemies & Encounters:

I always knew this section of my guide would be big, but seeing as I've only covered 59 of the 352 Enemies in the game, the projected size of this file will be 2.77 mb, larger than my whole guide to this date lol!

I must admit though, it's a really fun project, one that I started planning in my head years ago. Deciphering the Enemy AI script is proving to be very involving, and I'm learning a great deal (pretty soon I'll be able to write my own AI script).

I was thinking of starting a topic to note down all of the trivial things I find while compiling this section of my guide, so I think I'll use this topic as my outlet. There's a number of things I could list now, but my head's spinning (been writing the "introduction" section all day, and as you can see it's become somewhat of an essay).

I'd be tempted to ask you to make this into an HTML guide for GameFAQs because it looks like your guide could benefit a lot (links, not having to just link to pictures) but

- That'd require so much reformatting at this point even I wouldn't want to do it
- Some stylistic things you're doing can't be done in the HTML guides because the HTML allowed is limited at best :/

Converting into HTML may be something I think about in the future, but for now I'm keeping it the same format as my guide, That's a mega-project for down the line.

I've just noticed something rather comical! I'm experimenting with the enemies in the Kalm flashback, and I had the notion to run back to Nibelheim once you gain control of Cloud by the bridge, and funnily enough, the Rotting Pizza theme continues to play out when you get back to the Village. I didn't bother doing any of the optional stuff the first time either, so when I returned it allowed me to visit Cloud's mom with the Rotting Pizza theme still playing lol.

When the Sweeper uses it's Attack Smoke Shot, it does a check to see if any player does not have Darkness. The Custom Sweeper uses the same Attack, and the same check for Darkness is carried out, however, Smoke Shot does not inflict Darkness.

I reckon this is a mistake; Smoke Shot should have inflicted Darkness (the name also suggests as much)

TF's AI script for the Zemzelett isn't complete for the General Counter section. He didn't know what the [2120] var was.

Basically, it's looking at the Element of the last attack used, if it was Ice or Fire then it will trigger the transformation to its 'flying' form. This includes physical attacks if Elemental is used on the weapon, and also any items that have the Ice or Fire element.

Also, TF has noted that the Zemzelett's Def% gets raised to 60 mid-battle, but it doesn't. It gets raised from 1 to 11 (+10, see the AI script)

The Marine performs a check to see if at least one Target does not have Paralyzed, and a subsequent check to see if at least one target does not have Darkness. This is likely an error, and the check for Paralyzed should have been for Sleep, seeing as the Marine's Smoke Shot inflicts Sleep and Darkness.

There is no way for the player to be inflicted with Paralyzed at that point in the game.

For the Grangalan, TF did not work out what the [402B] var was. This is a check to see if the enemies in front of the Grangalan make use of the cover flag or not. If the Grangalan Jr. OR the right-most Grangalan Jr.Jr. A is present, then the Back Row Grangalan will not be targetable via physical attacks, and will trigger the [402B] var to be 1.

Once you've killed the Jr.Jr A and Jr. you can then target the Grangalan (even if the middle and left Jr.Jr. are present), which then means that [402B] will then be set to 0.
