I'm through Memoria and dealt with Deathguise, all that's left are the final bosses and Ozma.

My party has:

Zidane:
Ultima Weapon
Circlet
Bracer
Brave Suit
Protect Ring

Vivi:
Mace of Zeus
Circlet
Bracer
Robe of Lords
Protect Ring

Eiko:
Angel's Flute
Circlet
Bracer
Robe of Lords
Protect Ring

Freya:
Dragon's Hair
Grand Helm
Gauntlets
Grand Armor
Protect Ring

Steiner:
Ragnarok (supposedly Ozma has Excalibur II as a steal in the Unleashed mod)
Grand Helm
Gauntlets
Grand Armor (I know Tin Armor is better but I want the Hammer for the ending)
Protect Ring

Quina:
Gastro Fork
Circlet
Bracer
Robe of Lords
Protect Ring

Amarant:
Rune Claws
Circlet
Bracer
Brave Suit
Protect Ring

Dagger:
Whale Whisker
Circlet
Bracer
Robe of Lords
Protect Ring

So yeah, basically Circlet and Bracer for anyone not Freya or Steiner, Brave Suits for Zidane and Amarant, Robe of Lords for all the casters, Grand Armor, Grand Helm and Gauntlets for the two tanks, and Protect Rings for everyone, which I favor over Ribbons.
And you will all live to grow and thrive and lead happy lives...

Is not like people will be able to help you with that, since items might have been modified in the unleashed mod.
Make sure you have one of everything and check the stats yourself is the best advice that I can come up with.
That does seems the best for everyone but Steiner, for the reasons that you already stated. Except maybe for the white mages, one of them should be using the Tiger Racket.

Eiko was using the Tiger Racket, but I retired it once I got Angel Flute.

Doesn't seem like I can do better than this equipment, but the gloves on my tanks is debatable. Defense Gloves seems to trade the physical defense for more magical defense, but since the Protect Ring covers resistances, that aspect is pointless (as it is on Gauntlets). Genji Gauntlets is beaten out by both of them in stats though, so no point in using that either.

I'm considering using Light Robes on Vivi and Eiko as well, so they get respective boosts to Holy and Doomsday.

White mages, in vanilla, can do some solid physical damage with the Tiger Racket. Not as much as other damage dealers, but in the ~6k.
Pretty nice for a white mage using an attack that dont consume MP.

Fair enough. Angel Flute doesn't boost Holy anyway. Light Robe would cover that for only a small concession in defense.

But it's also personal preference because I like Flute Eiko's victory pose. Her dance reminds me a lot of the Skull Kids in Ocarina of Time.

So it'd probably be better on Dagger.

Is there any reason to not equip everyone with the strongest Shadow-absorbing or Shadow-nullifying equipment and have a Doomsday party?
I changed the signature again, trollolol.

Because Doomsday only targets the enemy in Unleashed, not everyone on the field.

That would be nice if it were that way in the vanilla game. I hate always having to work against the clock.
