I've heard that you get a game over, but do you get some kind of special cutscene, or is it just the generic game over scene? Is there any exclusive dialogue from Cranky or anyone? I would try it myself, but I really don't want to stand around for that long.

Surprisingly, you actually do get a unique cutscene, which I've never seen anyone mention before today, and I've never seen it myself either. Also you don't get a Game Over, you're just ejected back to DK Isles and have to restart the boss fight

I think this has to be one of the least documented things about this game, probably because nobody ever really tried it or assumed nothing would happen

Wow, nice find! I've played the heck out of this game for almost 15 years, gotten 101% multiple times, collected all the regular bananas and coins, and even done some speed runs, and somehow I've never seen this until now either. I first saw it mentioned a long time ago here under the "Fun Things" section:

There's some pretty interesting stuff on that website (it's where I first found out about the secret computer room many years ago), but this one stood out in particular. I know the microphone says that it's a 12 round battle at the beginning of the fight, so it implies that something happens once you reach the twelfth round, but I've never bothered to sit through the battle that long.

I'm pretty sure he used the infinite health Gameshark code, that gives you four melons for some reason.

I actually found that website a while back while looking for what happens if you waste all 12 rounds, it's one of the very few results on Google that mentions something happening, even to this very day. Most other things I've seen just assume that nothing happens at all, or that it's just the regular "time out" cutscene before you get sent back to DK Isles
