I want to get into TWEWY after hearing a lot of good things about it, but after seeing that the mobile version is less than half the price of the Switch version ($18 vs $50) and that the Switch version is based on the former, I'm not sure whether it's worth the higher cost.

Aside from the new epilogue, are there any other major differences between the two that would justify the higher cost of entry?

the switch version supports joy-con pointer input(simulated wiimote controls), multiplayer(single switch, each player takes 1 joy-con), and nothing is locked behind microtransactions.

and I think the switch version is the only one where you can have multiple saves, through use of multiple users.

From the TWEWY wiki

  • Many new remixes of songs from the original DS version, as well as new ones.
  • A variety of new pins.
  • Cooperative multiplayer in conjunction with new Joy-Con controls.
  • A new story segment, A New Day.
  • Brand new Dissonance Noise.

Also, the micro transaction store was changed to a store where you can buy stuff with the in game currency.

Huh, I wasn't aware that the mobile version has microtransactions on top of the base price :/
Anything significant locked behind those?

Just some rare itens, like remixed music, some rare materials, the most op food in the game and a 1 Million yen pin.
Outside of the rare material pack, not much

Aso, I htink the microtransaction store is not on the Switch versions, I may be mixing it with another game.

Got it, thanks! Leaning slightly towards the mobile version.

SO THAT'S WHERE THAT CHARACTER IS FROM! :o

No wonder she grates a little on my nerves! She's from a microtransaction store! XD

DS: Definitive experience, IMO. Play this if possible. Accurate touch controls and gameplay focusing on multitasking and finding a balance between you and your partner.
Mobile: Takes away the multitasking bit and adds more story IIRC
Switch: Inaccurate motion controls, takes away the heart of the combat (that being the multitasking). Adds a bit more story as well, but you can just look it up
*insert funny joke here*
