What did you think of the Stadia reveal?
Note: I’m not asking how you lot feel about the streaming-only, digital platform. I’m asking how you feel/felt about it’s pitch.

Play - The obvious “feature” here being the concept in itself. Do you enjoy watching your favorite streamers and YouTubers play your favorite AAA releases? Does jumping right into a streamer’s save state and continuing gameplay appeal to you? How about being able to reach out to “gameplay support” for any challenge you might be stuck on?

Google revealed their first party games studio Stadia Games & Entertainment so I’m looking forward to see what they’ve got cooking up.

Scale - The development implications and potential from being able to directly work on a game after release and update it so fluidly. Personally, this is one of the biggest if not THE biggest change going from traditional to streaming consoles. I don’t even expect Microsoft to offer a comparable feature with Xcloud.

Connect - Google’s focus on narrowing the barrier between gamer and streamer is an interesting premise and makes a ton of sense given their YouTube ownership. Is it one that the masses can find appeal in? I personally think this will have a huge appeal simply with the ease of access should it be executed properly.

Of course there’s still a lot we don’t know including pricing and hardware (if any) but based on what we saw today, how do you feel about Stadia as a concept and product?

Plenty of concerns.

What about the first party lineup?
Demo shown works decent in a controlled environment but what happens in real scenarios with a shaky internet connection?
Data caps anyone?
Will the service launch with a full library of games?

The future is certainly streaming but is the future actually now?

I’ll leave gaming to the companies who made Mario, Zelda, Zidane, Nathan Drake, Master Chief, and Spiro.

More is a good thing, but I’m getting older and these new features don’t interest me.

It's not really something I can even use if it relies on streaming.
Get better freakin' broadband in my community first, then I might even think about it, but without, it's useless to me.

I mean, I can't even watch Netflix in HD with the kind of connection available, still get DVDs and blurays delivered to me. I don't watch people playing games on youtube. I play the games myself.
En un mundo perfecto, eso definitivamente importaria.

It's too ahead of it's time. Google should come back in a decade with this idea but updated to be on par with 2030's technology.
