This grip has made a world of difference to how comfortable the Switch is while using it in handheld mode. Some grips can be too tight or loose fitting in areas, potentially scratch or leave marks based on what I've read from a variety of reviews on them. So I finally opted for a simple rubber/gel one to test the water and this one was recommended over other gel grips.

It fits well, is easy to put on/take off and it feels really great compared to without it. The extra handle grips really go a long way to making it much more comfortable. If you want a simple yet effective grip without taking much of a chance on one I can't recommend this grip enough.

It has made playing in handheld even more enjoyable so I just wanted to share with anyone who were thinking about getting one or maybe haven't given it much thought - it only adds to the experience. I can't believe I went so long without a grip and this is an affordable, comfortable option.

Thanks! Been wanting a grip since handheld isn't too comfortable for me, this will save me from shopping around.
Got a 3ds grip for my roommate recently and it's had me considering getting them for a few different devices.

It seems good, all the ports and vents are open. Plus there are holes all along the back of it so it's not completely sealed up.

Yeah I've researched a lot, if there's any you're interested I can probably let you know the cons of them.

This grip is really great and simple with no noticeable downsides. The handle/grip bumpers make all the difference and are large enough for your fingers to wrap around pretty well (not just small bumps).

Having to take it off to dock it is a big no-go for me.

I use something similar. Once you get used to a good handheld grip, it's almost impossible to go back to naked handheld mode.

I wouldn't want anything extra covering the Switch while docked since it can run pretty hot, though I understand the sentiment. The comfort added is worth it if you're going to be playing in handheld for hours.

Is it easy to remove? I'm mainly interested in grips for the joycons that don't cover the rest of the switch.

Yeah it's pretty easy to remove, it's just a rubberized gel material. There are grips that only attatch to the joycon but I believe they also cover the shoulder buttons and make them slightly more stiff to press.

I highly suggest some kind of grip either way, the added ergonomics feel irreplaceable after usage.
