Some PS4s ship with 1TB HDD, the majority of the ones bought are mainly going to be 500GB models.

Pretty sure all that are sold now come with 1tb.

Also for those said models to expand the storage you either need to physically remove the HDD or buy a proper external, and have to keep in mind the PS4 doesnt have a lot of USB ports for the majority owners.

That what a usb hub is for. Also you don’t have to keep an external plugged in at all times. You can disconnect it if it’s not is use.

and the trophy for the most useless info goes to: drumroll........ TC!!!

Well you can just get bent.

In any case the issues with the Switch are just as easy to fix, it's just a matter of expanding the storage

We shouldn't have to do that. This isn't like PC gaming where the build is entirely on the consumer. It's a common theme among the Switch and it's features or lack thereof, where the solution is to use/buy another device.

But then you are basically either asking for a vastly different device or a much more expensive system as a whole, plus the whole notion of buying accessories is pretty much a part of gaming and we live in a time where shopping around is WAY easier to do.

If you're buying third-party AAA Western games on a platform that isn't spelled PC, you're doing it wrong.

Most people buy third-party games on consoles. Not everyone wants to spend that kind of money on a PC every few months.

Like you'll be spending on microSD cards and soon online?

I'm not asking for either. I'm just stating a fact and how it sucks that we have to deal with it. And no, buying accessories is not a normal part of gaming. The only cases in which it is is for like, Rock Band or things that require peripherals to get the intended experience. I've never had to buy an accessory.

This is a myth. You do not have to spend a lot of money every few months let alone years. The last time I bought something was a couple of RAM sticks and that would have been in 2016. The cost of those sticks is balanced by the money I can save by frequent sales across the various different free services available.

Lots of things suck in life, doesn't mean that there aren't ways to make them suck less, like smart shopping for one thing.

Or not supporting those that perpetuate such practices.
