They matter as much as sales anywhere else I suppose. But Switcher haters generally don't like them much because they show Switch blowing the competition out of the water.

Depends if it fits my agenda.
If it doesn't then no. It doesn't matter.
Now, say my name.

As a single entity they don't matter but as part of the whole picture they do.

You can't distinguish if a game is a success or a failure by regional sales. You have to take into consideration the total sales.

I agree. The system is missing out on quite a bit of functionality and features that have been commonplace on game consoles since over a decade ago. The fanboys and defense force can deny it all they want, but the Switch truly is lacking overall and things aren't getting better or going anywhere persay as Nintendo doesn't really seem to give enough of a f*** when it comes to hurrying to put some fundamental features on the console. Considering they already have the cash of those who already purchased it, they probably don't care as long as hardware and software sales are still good.

I kind of like the Switch(Not love though.) but not for it's hybrid / portability gimmick, but simply for the fact that it is the only way I can play new games from Nintendo IPs that I love. I wouldn't recommend to anyone except really diehard Nintendo fans and I wouldn't even give it the time of day if it didn't have some Nintendo games on it. Nintendo is lucky they can make some pretty great games, because that seems like their saving grace as it's one of the few main things they can get right.

This certainly had relevance to the topic.

Fundamental features? Like...ummm...playing games?

I don't know about you, but I want my game consoles to do one thing....play frigging games. My Vita and PS4 have a bunch of useless features that I never use and clutter up my home screen.

Honestly I think keeping the OS to a bare minimum to be able to add more that half a GB of RAM to games...is the best possible choice.

Now, I'm insanely curious @Number090684 ...what "fundamental features" do you believe the Switch lacks?

Well.... I posted this in the wrong topic.... somehow.... Anyway, some of the fundamental features the Switch lacks are....

Web browser
Video player
Music player
Way to freely copy / or move game save data to and from Micro SD to and from the Switch console
Way to message friends without needing a another device
Way to voice chat with friends

The Switch really is assbackwards as far as functionality and versatility goes and Nintendo is the one to blame.

Fixed for you

So copying saves, and message/chat (for those who do online gaming) gotcha. And yes it could use those functions.
