Yeah, I'm sure Nintendo wouldn't mind selling a console like that at a nice loss.

It should be about the same cost as the current Switch.

cost increases:
- 4 GB more ram = ~ $20
- 3x bigger GPU die area = $70
-more cooling equipment = $10
-32 GB more NAND = $8
TOTAL: $108

cost decreases
-Switch Pro Controller vs Joycons = -$10
-no dock = -$30
-no battery = -$20
-no screen = -$40
-no joycon grip = -$3
total = - $103

Get your hands out of your ass dude.

And what about the (reasonably safe) battery technology that doesn’t exist for what is basically a PS4pro lite portable? Certainly not at that size.

And the fact you have to cram said tech into a smallish portable? And somehow make it not f***ing melt in your hands?

Because no making Switch not portable and vastly more powerful is...really stupid and should not be entertained at this time.

I don't think it is meant to be portable. Hence the removal of screen and battery.

I addressed that.

It’s like saying “Make a 3DS but it’s only playable on your TV”

It’s stupid. Switch has been well received regardless of what 1 loser and his 10K accounts and a handful of career trolls say. Wasting effort in this would be asinine at this time.

Well, it would exist along the current Switch. It wouldn't replace it.There are quite a few people who never undock their Switch. This gives them a better experiance at the same price. It would also do a lot of what the PS4 Pro does at the base PS4's price. It could undercut Sony quite a bit.

It just goes to show how much is wasted for people like me who only use it docked. Maybe add no joycon rails to that list too.

I mean, something like that is kind of not useful to me.
1) I play off TV. A Box like setup like that isn't going to be for off TV play.
2) The games I play don't need that kind of power. How is Mario+Rabbids going to be improved for off TV mode? Cat Quest? Romancing Saga 2? Even I am Setsuna is unlikely to be able to utilize that kind of power in any meaningful way, not to mention each game is going to need to be patched to be able to effectively potentially utilize the added power.
pikachupwnage posted...
I'm fairly certain the "Box" portion of that means it's not going to be portable, which for me, anyway, is a no go.
I don't oppose it, if Nintendo wants to do something like that, but it's not at all useful for someone like me.

No, specs don't matter.

And this is why we can’t have nice things. I don’t care about specs either, but what’s the harm in Nintendo doing this?

You just don’t want other people to have the option of buying it?

You really want a device that isn’t going to work because the bandwidth of USB C isn’t enough to take advantage of a dock like this? Because let’s be real, Nintendo has no intention of selling the Switch as anything other than a tablet.

What GPU would be used to achieve 2TF in a design that originates with mobile hardware? Can DDR4 even provide the bandwidth needed for 4K gaming?
"When you've got no argument, say something bad about <x>."
Perfectly explains why the Nintendo boards are toxic and are full of trolls/haters.

Correct. If I don't need it, no one else does.
