Gamespot should refund it. That damn company. I finished with them for the same reason.

Why are you here if you finished with gamespot? They own this site.

Better konged than donged.

How does someone "mistakenly" buy a used console?

There is system transfer, but it would probably require you to buy a new Switch, transfer the data, then return the used one.

Hmm, I'll have to look up the process and I guess somehow convince them to do it. Wish it were easier, like storing the data online or something.

I mean I did explain it. I went to Gamestop to buy a Switch. They asked if we wanted to buy used for $20 off, on that and several of the games we bought. I was clear and insistent that I wanted to buy new, not used, on every item. We paid full price. I end up with a user profile on my system the moment I turn it on for the first time called DonkeyKong. It wasn't until I went to change it's name/avatar that I noticed the linked email and began to think it wasn't some default profile, and so here I am now.

The question is how does someone "mistakenly" sell a used console.

I purchased this system from Gamestop brand new for $299, not ebay or some third party Amazon seller.

There's your mistake.
And yeah, it sounds used. Consoles don't have an account by default you make one.

Lol dude said he bought a brand new system from GameStop. Hahahahah nothing is brand new there unless it’s day one release. Never buy consoles or peripherals from GameStop.

I remember when I bought my gamecube it had no power cable. That was pretty suss. I had to go back there to get it. I was young and naive so I didn't demand recompense.
