I don't know about everyone else but I don't think there was a single major story development in this game that I liked. At best, the story beat was predictable and therefore uninteresting, or at worst, it was something done for shock value and was generally irritating.

Every single death in this game feels unneeded and contrived to me. I don't even have a whole lot of love for Maya but just the way that scene was done was so dumb. I did have a lot of love for Aurelia and Lilith however, so yeah I pretty much checked out when I saw where the Eden-6 plot was going.

There is of course the DLC that could make something of all this, but I doubt it will resurrect characters. Who knows, though, might be pleasantly surprised.

But hey, at least it plays well I suppose.

I feel like they hired a group of writers for Hallmark original movies.

The issue I had with the whole plot was it’s pacing.

We join up with Maya and then a few missions later she’s dead.

Yet I spent what felt like ages running around Eden 6 looking for a vault key.

It’s like the wrote the story then thought “crap we need a cameo from ...... in here”

Oh look Tiny Tina has grown up. Side quest to visit an ex and recover pet.

Tick her off the list and next character.

Fingers crossed DLC explores them all more.

The last game is so...

This has more in common with that telltale crap plot wise...

I sometimes wonder how the story would've turned out if tales Borderlands never existed.

The story telling in Tales was great. I'm not quite sure how comparisons are being drawn. That actually had a cohesive storyline.

Never claimed it wouldn't be. Hence the hypothetical "if" in my topic title.

He didn’t say it wasn’t or compare them. Pretty sure the point he’s getting at is that Tales had a massive influence on 3’s plot, and it’s interesting to think of what 3’s story could have been if Tales never happened.

Not really. All it did was give Atlas an excuse to come back.
