well i'm trying to give lothar a skull so i can get morte back. i have soego's skull. problem is, it won't let me give it to him. i decided to go and get one of the other skulls. i got horgrimm's, stale mary's, and acaste's. no dice.

i tried loading a save i had before i even talked to lothar. no dice.

i tried attacking him and seeing if that would reset the choices for giving him a skull. no dice

i tried running the game with admin privileges, no dice

i tried talking to him 30 times, no dice

i tried dropping the skull of soego before talking to lothar and then coming back and picking it up to give to him. no dice

what. the. crap.

i am running the game under vista and i have version 1.1. what the crap am i supposed to do here? i'm screwed unless you guys have a workaround. please help!

i have heard that you're supposed to get some special skull or tell him about your crypt or whatever. i haven't been to anything that resembles TNO's crypt....so where would i need to go to find it? obviously somewhere near the dead nation. would that solve my problem?

I believe you only get the option if Morte was kidnapped, because you're trading him one skull for another (Morte). Has this happened?

Otherwise, he doesn't really have reason to ask a skull of you.
Yes i am insane. Abnormally insane though. For that reason i can keep my sanity.

Go through the Dead Nations. Then go through the Drowned Nations. There's a door with Vargouiles and Trocopotoca near it.

thank you SKAR, the guides didn't really make that clear AT ALL. they were just saying to use one of 5 different skulls and i'd be good to go.

i'll try that and see if i'm able to continue on.

okay sorry, i gotta ask again to make sure i'm in the right spot. i'm currently in drowned nations. i've seen those two enemies walking around. what part on the map do i need to go to in drowned nations to find the skull? (please don't give me coordinates as i'm terrible at reading those.......that and the map system doesn't show any coordinates)

Head down near the middle of the map. Then find a path going left. That will take you further down. The door is at the very south end.

yeah i JUST found it lol. it was in the southeast corner(more so at the very bottom) of the drowned nations

the reason i was having so much trouble was because the guide was writing some of the quests quite a bit earlier in the game than you'd normally come across them. it threw everything out of whack for me.

long story short, if you get to the lothar quest and can't just give him a skull, you NEED to go to the drowned nations and go to your tomb. just specifying it for anyone else who may be having problems here.

i appreciate the help btw, skard

That's a problem with most guides for RPGs. They explain things on an area by area basis instead of a quest by quest bases. When I play I finish all the quests contained in a single area, move on to the next and do the same, then if there are any quests that involves 2 or more otherwise completed areas do those.
