A lapras just appeared in poke pelago and it doesn't look quite like the other lapras' that I've gotten from it. The coloring between normal and shiny lapras is just so similar that I'm not sure if it's shiny or if it just looks that way in poke pelago and I wasn't paying much attention before. I didn't even think you could get shinies from poke pelago so finding out if that's true or not would help determine if there's a chance of me getting a shiny lapras or if this is just another lapras to wonder trade away.

Also, are there any statistics as to how likely it is for a pokemon to stay in poke pelago and if leaving beans helps keep them there instead of just attracting them?

Well, a shiny Lapras is purple so It's easy to tell.

It's a dull purple and I have a hard time differentiating between similar shades of blue-ish colors. If it was as obvious as you make it sound then I wouldn't be asking.

They sure can. I had a green (i think) Zubat show up once. Completely forgot about it though and it left before i got back to it.

Alright cool well then I'm pretty sure the lapras is shiny. Not the best nature but I haven't gotten a shiny from anything but gts/wonder trade since leaf green so hopefully it stays.

If you're really too colour blind to tell (and I don't mean this in a bad way), upload a picture. Shiny Lapras is an entirely different colour.

Also, check if there is a star on the top screen where the nature is. I don't actually know if there would be one for a shiny Pelago Pokémon...but it would make sense.

I made a photobucket account just to upload the photo but it's saying the link is too long to post. It doesn't look exactly like the one plasmwraith linked but more in between that and the color of the sprite.
