Well you CAN, but their offspring will be Alolan forms

This guy bred two normal Rattata and their eggs hatched into Alolan Rattata

I've got a quote that embodies you perfectly, but it's seventy-three posts long, has a few massive flowcharts, and lots of Xion-KMA to Me

Okay that's just stupid and makes no sense.

Maybe for the ones where the base form is the same but evolves into an Alola form, but for the whole evo line being Alola form?

ah wtf GF?

No we assumed breeding Alola forms would always result in Alola form offspring, we assumed breeding the classic forms would give the classic form as offspring since the whole explanation for Alola forms is the species adapted to Alola over a long period of time.
It makes 0 sense for the non-Alola forms to produce Alola form offspring

That seems stupid. Also annoying since you will have to breed in gen VI if you want to use a non Alolan form. That does really seem like a way to get people to pay for pokebank.

Why would we assume that?

Never have new versions of non-legendary/event Pokemon ever just be completely inaccessible in a set of games.

As of this leak there is literally no way to breed certain Pokemon in Gen 7. If we could travel to another region in Sun/Moon it'd make sense, but without the ability to do so this is just stupid.
