After an initial 7-hour, 3-part session, and getting an A on the final level after that ordeal (words cannot describe how frustrated I was), I got the Plat yesterday after a much smoother Level 9 run.

S Rank levels 1, 2, and 3 and first 4 levels of 4.
I love this game's difficulty, you can't 'stay mad' because you jump right back into it (R1 for quicker restart) and I only have two gripes.

1: A majority of my 'misses' are because it only counts the glowing pads if you land directly on them. Like I've S ranked an entire stage multiple times (the first boss of level 4) but A ranked because I missed a glowing pad by about half a second. I'm not saying the game needs to be 'easier' by execution, but a little more leeway than demanding the reflexes of a machine would be nice. The 'gate' glowing pad should be considered a flag, not an additional bit of precision to make you fail an otherwise perfect run.

2: It doesn't bother 'showing' you the ring mechanic, and by the time you get to it being shown as a mechanic, you've already A ranked stages (mostly level three) strictly because it doesn't 'teach' you about the rings.

You can miss a pad or two and still get an S-Rank. Between power slams and perfect turns, one pad shouldn't be enough to ruin an S run.

You're taught the ring mechanic in 2-2 (just to confirm, you're talking about the white rings you need to hover to hit, right?). Level 2-1 teaches you to hover, then 2-2 shows you that there are aerial bars to hit.

I don't know why but it feels like I'm always a split second off.
My main gripe is that the 'checkpoints' should count as just that, like the ones at the end of a level and between boss hits.
A level select would be nice (if you've cleared the entire level first) to add I think.
I'm sort of OK at perfect turns (aside from in the air) and I need to practice slams.
It irritates me that something that claims to be a rhythm game is more about listening/preparing for audio cues and not related to the music at all.
Either way progress is progress, I just wish you didn't have to redo the ENTIRE level before x level if you mess up on one stage. (especially if you've cleared the level before...)
