So here is the thing, I have some questions how to maximize my servants and how feasible it may be to absolute max a particular character and what may be best for them.

the caster supports, waver, merlin, skadi and the newer ones not out for NA yet (or least the improvement for raines) Is there some critical skill improvement for them? Oh xxx needs np 2 or bond y to improve this skill.

caster illya, I got np5, is it more benefit to max all her skills or lv 120? I may target bond 15, np6 to max her.. and how does np5+ work anyways for coins?

alter ego illya, I have her at np4 atm but same questions for I have for caster illya applies too, however she has the benefit of being selected for the year thing, so after this selection and next years I can simply make her np6 at that point.

summer illya, if I wanted to max her I need 10 copies with bond 15? what if i did bond 15 and say np2 if i get unlucky? is any of her skill improvements big for her?

Grail for love, not meta.

That said, there's really no reason to grail the Caster supports. Their usefulness comes from their skills and NPs, not from attacking directly.

Support casters only really need their 5th skill. 4th skill can be a decent stretch goal for some like Castoria or Merlin where you could be leaving them out over longer periods.

For 5*s, NP3 and some crazy high bond will let you do 120 + 5th. More practically, NP4 lets you get 120 + 5th at reasonable bond. Those are your biggest gains.

6th usually isn't a big deal because it is very rare that a servant gets a bonus with their 6th skill against a class they have advantage on. You're just boosting them as a neutral attacker against one class when the point of a neutral attacker is to hit everything hard. The alternate flavor is crit resistance to a class, but this is too narrow imo to be worthwhile.

4th increases NP gen and star gen as well as damage so it is actually pretty solid. I wouldn't say it is essential unless you're doing solo stuff.

Bond 15 NP2 on a limited 4* doesn't even let you get them to 120 even if you ignore the 4-6th skills.

NP5+ coins work the same way as NP1-5.

I'm assuming all of those Illya's he mentioned are exactly that.

First and third additional skills are largely trash. I recommend starting with additional skill 2 for 20% np gauge and then grailing as high as your bond/np levels will allow.

4th and 5th skills for all servants are the same. There are 2 main flavors of 6th skills, and those two flavors are further broken down by being for a specific class enemy.

There is no NP6. Her third append skill grants 20-30% bonus damage against sabers.

The reason why lvl120 is "grail for love" is that it requires tremendous amount of *5 EXP cards. Leveling from lvl 100 onward cost exp cards like lvl100 one SSR. JP server just got like free 1000 *5 exp cards but that just took one to lvl106. That should tell you something.
For 5th skill vs 120, it really depends on the servant and how you use them. For example, giving an AoE lvl120 might be better idea than 5th or 6th skill because its more universal damage instead against one specific class, etc.
