I don't recall many people making that much of a fuss over it.

Because they expected and wanted the game to have fixed cameras, especially because after 13 years of OTS games, they thought this would finally be the game to have fixed cameras.
I'll never long for what might have been

Some people just prefer fixed camera angles plus as a supposed remake this should at least have them as a second option since half the series is fixed camera angles, INCLUDING the game this is supposed to be a remake of.
Favorite games---Silent Hill 2, Biohazard 2 & 3, and--

It would have made us old gamer grandpas happy. OTS cam is fine, just a bit overdone in this day and age. Plus the camera angles added a sense of dramatic tension and cinematic artistry to the older games that had them.

Saying OTS is overdone isnt really an argument especially since RE was one of the first AAA series to have it done.

He is paraphrasing but yes. Generally he or I would say that FC was outdated and they would cite REmake Remastered to try and prove it wrong.

Loved the remasters, but all the OTS games outsold it.
