Well, you're very wrong as they can take all kinds of assets from their other games, but even if you were right, then just don't f***ing make it. If you can't do something the right way, don't do it at all.
1) What assets from what other games?

2) If they did decide simply to not make the game, what's the upside for us?

3) Speaking generally, what are the benefits of taking a "If you can't do something the right way, don't do it at all" stance?

No, because the game would most likely have sucked if they had tried to do it in one game. Similar to FFXV and Kingdom Hearts III

There are cases when the is true.
For example if a bad creation locks us out of a proper one for years. IP hoarding is a thing. Other times you can make things worse for everybody, like WC3 affecting people that never bought the new one in bad ways.

However this game is not one of those cases.

Yes, but the assertion under discussion here is that they shouldn't even make the attempt. So the hypothetical alternative in this scenario is still that we end up with nothing, as opposed to something. So I still don't see the benefit.
