And echoes a lot of this boards' and other general concerns. (Ignore the kotaku attachment it's irrelevant to Tim Rogers personal greatness)

I agree, except for anything Tim Rogers does. He's the best and I love him. He's on point 99% of the time, except in this particular instance where he s***s on the music. Idk, maybe they had a s*** audio when he played the demo, though I kinda doubt it. Literally every video has done at kotaku is gold tho. Tim Rogers fanboy post over.

Eta, his "Let's Mosey" series is fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it.

^Same here I've been a Tim Rogers fan for awhile he's a "real" videogame reviewer with intelligent arguments great humor and peculiar interesting quirks and writing style. There's no one else like him. Reading or watching a Tim Rogers review or even opinion piece and then a Game Informer or IGN review afterward is like going to a 5 star restaurant and then McDonalds.

And I actually agree with him about the music, at least in the case of the boss music. Its not bad, the new remixed theme is just unrecognizable from the original. I love the original rock version of it and Remake lost that rock edge, in other words, which sucks. Also sometimes less is more and this music just has too much going on. But I guess that's what happens when you remake a game and have now 3 composers instead of only 1.

Yeah, I stated a while back that this was my main fear as well, the story... they're going to mess up the story, if you're halfway realistic you won't be as disappointed when this happens. This is 2020 Squenix guys, they're going to go head to head with Blizzard for most disappointing game of 2020 I feel (though obviously ff7rm will crush wc3 reforged in terms of everything the expectations are infinitely higher for ff7).

A fellow Tim Rogers fan of culture, on GameFaqs no less. Well met. I've been watching a couple Rogers' videos just about everyday, and your comparison is apt; his experience and knowledge in the industry alone separates him from what passes for video game "journalism" by leaps and bounds. There's absolutely no-one else like him. His Cyberpunk 2077 pre-review was also gold and gave me some reading material as well. Hell, just about all his vids are gold.

And music is so subjective that any well-reasoned position is just as valid as another, so it's just a case of different strokes and all that for me. No harm, no foul.

I rather like Tim Rogers. Too bad he works for a trash fire like Kotaku. I can’t give Kotaku clicks in good conscience.

I mean he says he is hype for the game, that he enjoyed the demo and that he is going to “kill it” when it comes out and he likes what he has seen. Then he proceeds to talk about things that are nothing but speculation. Obviously speculation and concern is perfectly ok, but it’s just amazing to me how everything that people actually see and play of the game, they feel is great yet they still feel the need to assume everything that they haven’t seen yet is going to be bad despite everything that is known has been seen as good. Wacky logic.

Eh, I give Rogers the clicks on YouTube and YouTube only (and Kotaku's YouTube by extension, admittedly), though I don't like it. I'm hoping the end-game for Rogers, if he wants it, is to spin-off like Jimbo Sterling did from (edit) Destructoid and establish his own "platform". But I think he's more passionate about developing games than video content creation and shovels the s*** at kotaku to pay the bills.

Tim just quit the trash fire known as Kotaku, so you may be getting exactly what you wanted.
