Is it to cheat for pre-orders? To get people to invest in stocks?

If they were gonna delay it, why not just release it at a later date? Like a placeholder late

It has happened with TLOU 2, Cold Steel 3, KH3, happened like twice with FF XV, its ridiculous
Waiting for: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III,The Last of Us Part II,Death Stranding,FF VII Remake,Persona 5 R
do you think they went "hey lets give them a fake release date then change it 2 months before haha"?
No,they just have undisclosed issues

Yeah man, I agree.

Can we for once, like maybe, get surprised and get something ahead of the release date instead of getting constant delays? I don't remember back in the old school days games EVER being delayed. Once the release date is set in stone, that's it! Always right on schedule.

They should have just said it'd be out in May, that way when they can get out out before then it's like.....NICE!!! Something unexpected on a huge positive note.
Man, April is just too far now. This had literally just destroyed my excitement for the game. I'm not even going to be thinking about it for now. Not worth it. Such a shame. It's even worse that the demo is likely not going to happen any time soon.

Because they can totally predict the future and already know that they won't meet their predicted deadline.

Technically the DBZ game coming out this week was moved up two months back in September, though if it was going to happen to anything, of course it'd be something that's only entertaining for fans of the IP lol

There is one legitimate reason though.
A march release is at the end of the financial year, meaning they can tell investors their projected income from the remake will fall into fiscal year 19/20, and secure them funding for that year.
Then at the last minute, it's too late to pull out, and knocking it into April (year 20/21) has no consequences.

Yes and no. dates do please investors and customers but during game development things often change so the release dates do too. Some companies wait until they are sure they can make said date before announcing it though and I prefer that.

That's what I keep wondering on gamefaqs, it never ceases to surprise me.
