Squalls and Rinoa's Love seemed so much forced...

Not only because of that Ring stuff Zell asked for.

Remembering that dumb concert... Gosh. I mean, it was fun seeing them all performing, but really? In the end it was nothing but an attempt to bring them together and yes I know you could make choices but, Squall reacted quite annoyed as well, when he was "invited" to go to the concert with her. I don't remember the exact wording but, guess it was something like "I'll stay here with you until you say yes and go with me" or whatever. And Squall only agreed because he was annoyed...

Overall it felt simply forced and that Space Scene is another peak >>
How the concert goes is entirely on the player. If you pick the romantic song, it goes well. If you mess up, it goes horribly, and I believe if you pick the fast song, it goes okay. The fact that they even have this as an option just confuses me to the max, as this shouldn't be optional for them to get along.
This is the duty of the Grim Angels.

I wish the decisions inGame would have had more impact on the Story.
But right now I don't have a PS1 Game in mind which would really impact the Ending depending on the decisions you made.

Something like a Karma / Choice System I got to know in inFAMOUS where you had good and bad ending. But in PS1 era I believe, it barely happened to any game. Who knows, if your decisions to refuse Rinoa would have lead to a completely different outcome or ending even, it would have made the game maybe more interesting.

Never the less, FF8 was my first FF and thus it has a special place in my heart. But there are just things which suck completely, still.

Chrono Cross and Parasite Eve 2 are the only games for the PlayStation that I can remember right now that have different endings.
There is also one small difference with Cinna in Final Fantasy IX.
Final Fantasy V have different endings, same with Final Fantasy VI, but choises in the game isn´t something that Final Fantasy do.

Hm right, seeing how FF15 decisions had no impact, at all. You could treat Luna bad and write silly stuff in their lover's book and her reaction stays the same. The only one who shows little reaction, is Iris during that silly date they do, but even if you were mean to her, she makes you a gift, in the end...

FFV and VI I never played.

Not exactly a single moment, but all the weird grunting/sighing/moaning that permeated every scene of Final Fantasy XIII.

It sounded like a f***ing porn movie half the time. Why do they do that?

And I have never played Final Fantasy XV =P.

But the choises in Final Fantasy are almost always you either say yes to continue playing, or the game keep asking you until you say yes.
Or the choises have no real value at the end of the game, like the date in the Golden Saucer.
You can tell Doctor Kadawaki that Rinoa is Squall girlfriend, but the game will treat it like a joke.

Oh yeah, there's the whole "either you do what we arbitrarily want you to do to move the plot forward or you'll be turned into a mindless crystal zombie" plotline from XIII, definetely.
The more hilarious part is the villain loses if the heroes die.

Actually Bart put forth a Catch 22 in his favor. The team pulled out a miracle through the power of will and blessed by Etro to get over it

There was Valkyrie Profile. Getting the best ending really changes and expands the story. Adds extra hours to the end game. But that's another non Final Fantasy PlayStation game from Square.
FFX-2 has a different 100% completion scene if you choose not to bring back Tidus that even a lot FFX-2 fans don't know about. It's tiny but cute.
I think FFXIII-2 had different endings but I haven't played it.
FF Type-0 has different endings in new game plus.
But, yeah, they don't do it much unless it's a sequel or spin-off. I think I prefer it that way with Final Fantasy.

Yes, I prefeer that too for Final Fantasy, as the story is most of the time what sell the game for me (most of the time, I like Final Fantasy VIII, even if the story is dumb).

If it becomes a Mass Effect kind of game where almost everything have possible different outcomes, then you can´t really tell the same story.

Maybe they might implement it with an FF8 Remake... ah rather not. They didn't with FF15 so why should they ever make an FF8 Remake, no. And even if, it would take them many years and I'd be old and grey when I play it!
