'Raider'

Well designed, but I'm speaking more on the hardened and buttressed versions.

Combat armor is a close second, but only the shadowed versions look nice when worn together.

Medium combat armor over vault suit
WAR EAGLE

Shadowed Leather (any tier)

Combat armor except the heavy tier looks okay.

First character ran around in a BoS suit (the orange one) with metal armor pieces/helmet, a goatee and glasses. I kinda liked the Gordon Freeman vibe.
23,000 Days in the fire was long enough, Robin, you've gone home...

I was thinking that as well when I saw the orange BoS jumpsuit the first time. It's halflife. :)

I like the look of Combat Armor the most, especially when you can upgrade it to Polymer.

It looks good on the Vault Suit (which said suit can be upgraded with Ballistic Weave, if I'm not mistaken)

I like the white star on the chest piece, and I think it fits a male Sole Survivor particularly well, given his service history.

Ideally, I go for medium. If you want better stealth you can pick the aptly named upgrade instead, and it gets a cool black paint job.
Plus, you can get Muffled and/or Ultralight, so you get the benefits of solid protection with improved sneaking ability.

Though I think Leather is a good second, the Heavy arms look cool.

Still, given how ubiquitous Combat Armor is once you hit level... 15 or thereabouts, you'll be able to find a piece you like.
So it's both practical and aesthetic all in one.
