Question, Are Morrie or Red optional characters? The sub quest of Morrie was totally skippable if I remember, are there chances that you can miss them? I asume that at least Morrie could be, since the quests involving Red are mandatory and you have to meet her no matter what.

Red/Gelda is mandatory, Morrie is optional.

Well, somebody listed Red's abilitys/skills on the wiki (the dot org version, not the dragonquest.wikia.com), but has their been any listing of what you can help Morrie learn?

Anyway, Red is honestly an additional character, that I'm not surprised about being more part of the story as she even then she was part of the story. Plus, while there is a story related reason for the group to have a horse and wagon, it seemed odd that the original game did so when you only had four members total.

Red doesn't seem very interesting... That's unfortunate. It doesn't look like it'll be worth buying VIII again then...

I don't know. If her Outlaw skills are on par with the Thief's class from VI, I'd imagine she'd be a big help in securing more recipe ingredients.
