OpenTTD is a business simulation game in which players earn money by transporting passengers and cargo via road, rail, water, and air. It is an open-source remake and expansion of the 1995 Chris Sawyer video game Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

This popped up on the Cheap Ass Gamer Instagram... although it seems to be always free. Wasn't sure if I should make the topic or not... but after checking on Steam, it seems like our good friend @SystemEgo doesn't know yet. So maybe it's news to you, too! Blast from the past. I never owned this game, but I'm almost positive I saw a neighbor playing it.

This is the free/clone version of transport tycoon deluxe which was a bestseller. It used to be free since I remember so I wonder why they put it now on steam and gog. Popularity maybe?
You should stop reading now.

Oh, I have this on my wishlist to remind me to play it! I can't just add it to my library it seems so I stuck in on there so I don't forget about it. Is there a way to add it to your account then? I played the original to death - one of my favourite games as a teen.

OpenTTD has been around for yonks and has always been popular. Putting it on Steam is probably just so more people can access it easier.

Would highly recommend everybody giving it a try; may not be your cup of tea but it's one of those games that just grabs you and, before you know it, 8 hours have passed!

@TroutPaste - there's a few other free games on my wishlist if you wanna put them up here too (Super Raft Deluxe & an escape room game).
The only difference between heroin and Gamefaqs is that there's a period of time where you enjoy being on heroin.

Yes, sensible idea. I was overjoyed when they put Battle for Wesnoth on there as it meant i didn't have to keep remembering to check the website for updates.
