Because it seems like big cloud services are facing issues left and right:

https://techcrunch.com/2019/07/05/bad-month-for-the-internet/

Especially Cloudflare was affected by this, which would also explain the outage at imgtc.

VERY extremely possible that might be the problem.
HOWEVER...
I just visited Imgtc to see if it was back up and I'm now getting a brand new message (with a huge exclamation point symbol inside a triangle over this message):

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from imgtc.ws (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). Learn more.
NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

It should be noted that I'm on a Chrome browser, and Chrome does tend to extremely overreact at times (meaning that it's POSSIBLY nothing notorious at all.... MAYBE....). However, I wasn't getting that message when I was trying to enter the site before this when the site was down and it just said that the connection could not be made (something along those lines, but I sure as hell wasn't getting the warning that I'm getting now). Not sure what's going on, maybe that new message is present because the guy who runs the site is trying to fix it and things are now out of whack while he is trying to piece and repair everything back to working order? I haven't the slightest clue.

Good news:
It's NOT anything notorious, it's just Chrome overreacting.

Bad news:
I was reading the other topic on Current Events and the creator of Imgtc had this to say about that new message:

"No, that's the DNS not propogating right now for whatever reason. It's just an avalanche of s*** right now."

In other words, it's NOT anything notorious, but the site is still f***ed up. So it might be a while before it gets back up to working condition.

In the mean time, we still have giphy for gifs (sadly, when copying and pasting the link, you have to manually type in "media" in front of giphy, put the word "media" a second time in between the two "/", erase any descriptions from the "mumbo jumbo" part (but make sure you keep the "mumbo jumbo" letters and numbers) and add /giphy.gif to make it able to embed on Gamefaqs (while making sure you got all the periods and backslashes in the correct places), just like this (might take a few extra seconds to load, depending on your internet speed). Feel free to see how I rewrote the link by clicking on "quote" below... but only after you see my cool gif. LOL:

Checking imgtc.ws, I got the message:
"ImgTC is currently being restored to a new server and full functionality should be restored in 2-3 hours. Thank you very much for your patience!"
Blast off and strike the evil Bydo empire!
Let's attack aggressively!

I'm pretty sure that a day is longer than two hours

@Snorlax_exlax

That's what I'm getting right now. The website is up (well, at least the opening log-in page) but my log-in isn't working. I'm assuming that they are trying to restore everyone's accounts. I hope so because that would really suck if my imgtc account (with all the pics I had in it) got toasted and I have to make a new account. But at least they are making tons of progress getting the website back up. They are doing a great job considering how much damage was done to their website.
Confidence? It's nothing but an illusion.

Extremely good news and some extremely bad news.
This message just went up on Imgtc's website:

"Over the past few days, I've been working on recovering the website after it was taken down due to malicious attacks. While no uploads have been lost and no account information such as passwords and email accounts were compromised, the database containing account information and image ownership information could not be recovered. Unfortunately, this means that the accounts themselves were lost and will have to be remade. I deeply apologize for the inconvenience and will take the necessary steps to ensure this doesn't happen again."

In other words, the good news is that the website is back up and is running (I also checked out past images from Imgtc posted in old topics on Gamefaqs and they are now embedding again as well). The bad news is that everyone's Imgtc account has been nuked out of existence (their old images that were on their account are still on the website, but floating around and not in anyone's account since all accounts have been destroyed) thanks to the people who decided to attack the Imgtc website. I'll get around to making a new Imgtc account later tonight (and start rebuilding from scratch. I think I still have my old images saved somewhere on my laptop) and to the people that did these DDOS attacks against Imgtc (which happen to be illegal... one guy who attacked the Playstation network got two years in prison for pulling DDOS attacks a few weeks back) I hope they have enough sense to stop while they are ahead since getting arrested and going to jail over something like this isn't worth it.
