Why not just institute a party selection system similar to fire emblem? You only get to select x amount of paired units (solos don't count towards this total) for each mission. This would allow them to add more characters to the game without creating a wall.

maybe. the roster is very likely going to be larger than it was in PXZ1

Yeah I hope they allow you to select your Units this time I wasn't really a fan of controlling up to 20 units at a time. Granted some will obviously be required for certain maps, which is okay for me.

I'd be fine with just 10 or 12 at a time.
