In Chapter 3 of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario takes to the sky to face the Glitz Pit - located in scenic smack-dab-in-the-middle-of-the-sky Glitzville - and fights through the ranks in order to achieve glory and, eventually, the championship belt.

http://www.mariowiki.com/Glitz_Pit

What is the Glitz Pit, you ask? It's the main attraction of Glitzville, where rich and poor alike come together for the amazing matches that take place miles above the ground. The Pit's unique fighting ring is an attraction that has no equal - for both the fighters that choose to compete, as well as the fans who are treated with an exciting experience.

http://www.mariowiki.com/Glitzville

Glitzville is a paradoxical city in the sky, and no one truly knows how such a large city manages to stay afloat. Every city has its own share of events, and as thus Glitzville also attracts characters of various aspirations. And, although these events may merely be fleeting, surely there will be special moments and memories from those who choose to participate.

= Your Objective =

Like Mario's Glitz Pit journey, you too must find a way to ascend the ranks of the Glitz Pit and take the championship belt for your team.

– – –

= Rules =

// Battle Types //
~ There are three types of battles in the Glitz Pit.
League Battles: Challenge the computer team above you to rise up in rank!
Quest Battles: Gain some unique rewards for winning in these battles!
Player Spars: Fight against another player's team for glory!
~ All battles give Star Points and Coins, which will help make your characters stronger.
~ Each contender is only allowed one League Battle per day. (There are exceptions to this rule per the mod's decree).

// Levels and Stat-Ups //
~ All characters start at 0 SP and Level 0, with 0 BP.
~ For every level-up, a character's HP and FP increases.
~ For every five level-ups, a character gains a stat-up, as well as 3 BP.
~ Stat-ups may be used on either ATK or DEF.

// Battle //
~ Battles are turn-based. The lower rank (in official matches) or the defender (in unsanctioned matches) goes first.
~ In league and spar matches, the winner is the team that is able to K.O. all of the other team.
~ In quest matches, there may be unique win conditions. You’ll have an objective that will give you an idea of what to do.

= Making a Character =

Ready to create a fighter of your own?

You can team up with others to make your team, or you can go and create a whole team by yourself. Players can make multiple teams. Note, that if you team up with other people, that only one player needs to show up in order to battle.

A team can consist of one (Solo), or two (Duo) characters out on the field of battle.

Multi-man teams get a special move called a Synchrostrike, which can be used when a party member is in Danger and the team’s total HP is less than half.

Solo fighters get an Adrenaline Rush, a sort of power build-up for single characters when they're in Danger.

I would highly recommend viewing the below link in order to make your characters:

QPU Warp: 3 direct-any-ground damage

(8 FP) Echo Chamber: Applies the "Resonant" status to an enemy for 3 turns. The Resonant status causes a character's Def to go down by 1 each time they take damage (minimum of whichever is higher between -2 Def and starting Def-5). Def returns to normal once Resonant wears off.
(3 FP) Encore: All of everyone's statuses are extended for one turn.

Valerie | Spooky Valkyrie | 20/20 HP, 10/10 FP, 0 Def

(5 FP) Healing Rain: Restores 10 HP to any member of the party.
(6 FP) Self-Weaponize: 6 indirect fire drive damage to one row of foes. If Lyla’s ability is active, this move pierces defense.
(4 FP) Spacey: Gives Dodgy status to self or ally for 2 turns.

Naomi | Sky Koopatrol | 17/17 HP, 10/10 FP, 2 DEF (Flying!)

Tomahawk: 4 indirect damage to the front foe.

(6 FP) Thunderous Fury: 5 direct damage to all enemies.
(7 FP) Incendiary Assault: 9 indirect-any damage, the target is granted either +3 ATK (3 turns) or Fiery (3 turns), while the user gets the other. Can be used on self or allies.

Synchrostrike- Daybreak: Deals 6 indirect damage to all foes, drains HP from the foe who took the most damage and restores it to Lyla and Naomi. Lyla becomes Flying for 3 turns.

Passive- Evocation: Shallan's damaging moves deal +2 damage, and her status moves cost 2 FP less than the standard (all already incorporated into the moves)

(6 FP) Frightful Illusion: Gives the entire enemy team the Fear status for 2 turns.
(5 FP) Magic Missile: Fires three bolts of magical energy, all of which may be targeted as she pleases. Each deals 4 indirect damage to its target
(6 FP) Witch Bolt: Indirect-any-piercing 6 damage, and inflicts the "Bolted" status for 2 turns. If an opponent inflicted with "Bolted" is targeted with Witch Bolt again, it doesn't cost FP to use. Using Witch Bolt on a different opponent prematurely ends the status on the first. Using Witch Bolt on an opponent already inflicted with the status does not refresh the duration

Synchrostrike- Magical Ambush: All opponents take 5 Indirect damage, and are then given the Marked status. Whoever is in Danger takes half-damage for the next three turns
