Maybe starting PR Timeforce right after finishing Timeranger was a bad idea...

It's not necessarily bad, but when people told me it was pretty much the exact same plots as Timeranger, I thought they meant every episode was the same plot. Instead, there are episodes that don't even feel like the monsters are being used to match the Japanese footage. Like one episode of Timeranger featured a mad bomber, who blew up buildings and stuff. In Timeforce, he was not a bomber at all and he blew up nothing, even when giant. Timeranger had a kidnapper, a monster that ran of casino that focused on fighting, a doctor that murdered his patients, a hitman, but Timeforce has had none of that so far.

Even ignoring the changes, some things don't add up. Ransik's story makes no sense. Like how did a bunch of ooze in a sewer make a full grown adult? Even the Ninja Turtles required the turtles to be covered in ooze for them to mutate. How did nothing become a person?

Also, I don't get Jen's motivations for wanting to kill what was the hitman in Timeranger all because he insulted her by bringing up her dead fiance. Huh?. Couldn't they have at least tried to make up something that would fit why Pink was going to execute this monster with extreme prejudice? I don't buy the whole, "I'M GOING TO GET MYSELF ARRESTED BY KILLING A MONSTER FOR INSULTING ME!"

Keep in mind that after 9/11 they went back and edited all the episodes (this was before Disney even did their own edits to the entire series). The versions seen on Netflix and the DVDs for all of Power Rangers is the International version but the International version of Time Force was made from the edited versions.

The only way the uncut version can ever be released is if they get the domestic version of the masters but no one knows for sure if those even still exist (or if they were destroyed and thrown away by Disney). If you look around, you can still find fan copies of the original episodes (but low quality VHS recordings).

Timeforce is one of those series thats alot of peoples favorites. Yet I'm still annoyed at it because the intro, and previews hinted at time travel more then we got. There is some good elements there, but I find myself a little bored on rewatches.

They go a little more into Ransiks backstory. I like him though. He's kinda like Shreddar and Magneto did a fusion, and you get Ransik.

Jen has a meanstreak. Look at her attitude towards making Red a Timeforce ranger. "We need his DNA to unlock the morphers." "Alright, but you're taking this off as soon as it's unlocked." Even took coxing from the rest of the team to get her to relent.

The writers also thought they were going to get a time traveling series and were dismayed to find out that most of the battles takes place in a city (so they couldn't just claim it was another time period like they did with the "alien worlds" for In Space).

Why would they go and do that? That sounds dumb. Why would you release edited versions on DVD?

However, the mad bomber dude was from episode 3 of the show, well before 9/11 happened. There's no reason he should not have been a mad bomber still.

Also, how could I keep in mind something I didn't know?

Well that's no different than Yuuri in Timeranger was initially. However, I'll take Yuuri's family being slaughtered when she was a kid to Alex being slashed in the back while in suit as being far more tragic.

I feel like Alex's death is just a cheap gimmick and the show did nothing to make me care that he died. Hell, that's assuming he is actually dead and didn't fake it. Actually, I'm calling it right now, he faked his death and is going to turn out to be the true villain at the end of the show.

With that said, a couple more things I thought about:

1. I hate what they have done to Dolnero. He went from this godfather-esque intelligent gangster in Timeranger to some dumb ghetto talking moron in Timeforce. Also gone are his cigars.

2. Is Nadira really Ransik's biollogical daughter? If he was a mutant, who the hell would have screwed him to give him a child? Or is does she call him dad because he is her sugar daddy?

3. Wes' dad is a worthless sack of s*** and needs to die slow and painfully. God I wish someone would at least punch him in the face right now.

There was this guy from the Shout Factory (I think his name was Brian) that actually communicated a lot with the fans. He tried to find the original masters but was unable to. So he then asked fans to send their VHS recordings (the idea was to splice in the missing footage from the VHS recordings) but supposedly no matter what he did with the footage, it looked terrible. Eventually he just gave up and used the International versions.

Like I said, they went back to the episodes after 9/11 happened and edited them then. The reruns on the network were then replaced with those versions of the episodes. The last 10 or so episodes never aired in their original form since they had airdates after 9/11

Spoilers. There is an episode that goes deeper into that later.

He gets better, but not by much.

He's already lost me. There is nothing he can do to make me want to see him survive.

BTW, I just watched teh first episode on disc 2 and wanted to ask, are the episodes on the DVDs in order? The preview from episode 8 showed that the next episode was the introduction of Time Shadow (not sure what they call in him PR), but the first episode on the disc I just watched was about some ghost boy and the yellow ranger getting transported to the past.

The Legend of the Clock Tower originally aired out of order. The DVDs corrected this. Did the episode still have the opening from later in the series (with characters and zords yet to be introduced) or did they edit that for the DVDs?
