Caught a big YouTuber using subliminal advertising...

Was wondering what should be done about this? I know it’s not an acceptable practice.

The video is called “The housewarming party” by Mcjuggernuggets. This dude has been doing shady s*** on that platform for years and this may have crossed a line.

Doesn’t matter if his content is satirical or not.

The use of that sort of technique is frowned upon. Inserting advertising of any kind that isn’t meant to be seen by the naked eye, isn’t acceptable in the eyes of the FCC.

His “content” has always been fraudulent and had people like myself; not threatened to pursue charges against him for fraud, he’d still be trying to pass that Psycho Dad s*** off as real.

I’d actually like this scum to lose everything he obtained via his various acts of fraud.

“In law, fraud is deliberate deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain.” He definitely gained quite a bit by claiming his videos were real.

Text book con artist in my opinion.

He received money & goods from impressionable kids/teens/young adults who believed his scam, felt sorry for him and sent various goods & substantial amounts of money to him before he was compelled to come clean.

That is textbook fraud.

Subliminal advertising/marketing is used to subconsciously trick someone into buying/watching/supporting a product or service in attempt to increase viewership/sales.

You mean like flashing random frames of product placement? Sort of. They do flash frames of a product. Or they use it to program behaviors in subvert way that can literally be used to brainwash people.

Example: a political candidate uses subliminal advertising to influence voters and condition them on a subconscious level to vote for them. Imagine how bad that would be.

I don't think that really works in reality.

Example: A hamburger is flashed 2000 times during a film. After the film, you’re craving burgers. A choice or desire implanted in your “mind” without consent.

Not legal/illegal in the USA (highly frowned upon and can Potentially get the one implementing it in some very hot water)

Several countries have made subliminal marketing/advertising highly illegal. Product placement is not the same.
