The last topic got locked because we've all left materialism behind, but I'm here to set things right.

The following arrived to my house from the UK on Tuesday:

The Cremator (Second Run)
Charley Varrick (Indicator)
Blue Collar (Indicator)
Three Films by Jia Zhangke (Arrow Academy)
The Cat O'Nine Tails (Arrow Video)
Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (Masters of Cinema)
Lucky for you, I'm a dog lover.

Is Charley Varrick a region-free release? It’s a pretty sweet movie, and one that I’d like to buy the next time I place an order on amazon dot co dot uk dot euro dot canadian dollar dot currency conversion dot international shipping charge.

My wife just spent $30,000 renovating our living room, so I feel like I’m entitled. As Robert Christgau said, there’s a reason why they call it ‘discretionary income’.

Alas, its region B only, as for Blue Collar. Until the April releases, those two are the only region locked Indicator titles.

You should feel entitled to a region free Blu-ray player as well.

But then I’d never stop buying blu-rays, and my life would become 56% blu-rays and 40% alcohol and 2% cats and 1% monthly scheduled sexual intercourse with the love of my life and 1% human being and...

...I’m buying a region-free blu-ray player, you guys.

The only thing I purchased lately is My Neighbor Totoro on Bluray.

There are some Twilight Time stuff on sale right now. I may not have money to spend on any of them but that's no reason for others to miss out.

I'm drunk, which is the perfect time to convince me to buy things I don't need, thanks rockus.

Even so, I didn't get crap. What a dumpy sale. Poop.

Went to this little indoor flea market kind of place that's down the road.

I upgraded Vertigo and The Birds to blurays and picked up Eating Raoul on DVD. I know Raoul has a Criterion release but it's not really the kind of thing I feel I need to spend 20 plus on at the moment so a dollar for a DVD of it is fine for now.

I feel like VHS is probably the best format to watch Eating Raoul on.

I don't mean that as a dig. It just seems like a wonderful VHS movie.

I now have two Paul Bartel movies so I'm well on my way of being that guy that plays Paul Bartel movies at parties, and will repeatedly be asked the question "why?" during.
