The music is soft in tone. Fitting that a level involving being in a hidden base would carry a bit of a quieter tone. On that point, there ARE high notes in the music, but otherwise the sound is soft and smooth.
There's also the small story told in the song. The story of Knuckles reluctantly agreeing to look for the keys in the base.
Of course, we arrive at Meteor Herd. The "Space Trip." Exploding meteors, Artificial Chaos and a giant lava pit. Fantastic times. I'll say that the echo given to the vocals played a good role in improving the feel of the song. Also, the acoustics of the song also helped. The "sound" didn't exist as a necessarily "normal" sound.
It had an "abnormal" tone to it; especially the "eerie whistle" portion. It's a part of what made the song good.
One more thing to cover with Knuckles: His theme song. An enhanced version of his SA1 theme song. An all-around smooth song that fit Knuckles' personality well. Another thing of note, yet ANOTHER song for Knuckles that tells a story.
Though, I suppose I'll start with Rouge considering she the opposite to Knuckles.
The music was soft. Very soft, which I think fit the area well. The area was a rather relaxed and peaceful area. Plenty of wildlife, and very little disruptive forces(excluding the machines stationed there, of course). I'd say it was good music for a starting level. Specifically Rouge, it worked well for her.
I loved Security Hall's music. Also loved the stage. Really a stage fitting a character like Rouge. She's a thief; what better way to show her talent as a thief then to have her actually STEAL Chaos Emeralds from a HIGH SECURITY facility. Great stage overall.
Oh, well, I guess every game needs a driving course. It was a fun course, I think. At least, until the part where you had to do other missions in the level. THEN, I'm not so sure about the quality of the level. Music was nice though. Enjoyable driving music.
