Is there any point in removing negative quirks? Can they rotate back in? Removing quirks does not remove the slot, does it? All i will get is a new negative quirk, is this correct?

Some negative quirks can really hamper your hero's effectiveness in battle (depends on the situation), and so certain negative quirks you will want to remove. You can off-set this by locking in positive quirks. It does take a lot of gold, but by locking in positive quirks you limit the number of negative quirks you can get.

But whether you want to remove a negative quirk (& which ones) is totally up to you. If you remain aware of their limitations and take steps to not put them in situations where the negative quirk will effect them, then their negative affect will be limited. But again, its up to the way you want to use them. For example, you can get a negative quirk that makes the hero weaker to beats, so as long as you don't put them in dungeons with lots of beasts then the negative quirks damage will be limited. But if say you get a negative quirk that makes the hero steal a lot of your gold & supplies, then you might want to remove it. There is a lot of ways to handle them, and they are all up to you.

And yes, by removing a negative quirk you are essentially freeing up a slot where they can always get another negative quirk, but again, by locking in positive quirks you also limit the slots whereby you can get a negative. So there is a way to off-set it, though it can get costly.

Also, there are dungeons that have curios that will remove a negative quirk at random (provided you put in the correct item). So its possible to remove negative quirks without paying any gold. However, just by going into the certain dungeon doesn't mean that the curio will appear, and it also doesn't mean that you won't get another negative quirk by the time you finish the dungeon. The whole game is about risk vs reward.

Almost forgot to mention that when you get filled up with negative quirks (& positive ones too), if you get a new negative quirk, then it can overwrite an existing one. If you lock in a positive quirk, then it can't be overwritten, but when you fill up on negative quirks, the game can & does overwrite one negative quirk with another. For this reason, you have to monitor which negative quirks your heroes get, as they can change over time.

The quirk system is a bit weird and maybe a bit intimidating, but its done to add consequences and to change things up in the game so that it doesn't seem so generic. Some like the quirk system and some hate it, but its there to provide some nuance.

Thanks. I didnt know that the slot for positive quirks can overwrite the slots for negative, i thought they strictly have their own columns. Good to know!
