On a side note....that Zapdos alone is enough for me to get the DLC. Thing looks awesome!!! Maybe it goes back to being one of the best looking pokemon back in gen 1 but it's an irrational favorite of mine. Top pokemon faves...

1. Rayquaza
2. Giratina
3. Shiny Charizard (gotta be dat black dragon)
4. Zapdos
5. Celebi

I could continue for a top 10 but getting to Zapos is enough.....but stopping at 4 would just be silly.

Funny, I just listened to this SciFri podcast today, about the "Pokemon region" in brains of people who grew up with the series.

https://youtu.be/FlS8gsw5JCQ

Maybe that's related to the deep attachment to old Pokemon we discussed a bit ago? If cataloging consistently perceived information carves out a specific chunk of mental space like that, I'd expect disengaging from it would be difficult.
Odd.

Does anyone here enjoy playing Pump it Up or DDR?

Lol, I sure loved that video. I think it's very true indeed. Probably why, if I had to continue ranking, gen 1 would begin to see more representation.

One of my friends was really into Pump It Up, and really good at it too, playing the hardest difficulties and stuff. I tried it an arcade at his introduction and obviously sucked at it lol. My feet eye coordination is not good.

Everything takes practice. You know what they say: There is no wax-on wax-off, you learn by doing it.

I find Pump it Up is easier to get A scores as a beginner because it requires less foot pressure, but if become really into it then it does get harder than Dance Dance Revolution.

DDR is less forgiving if you make a mistake but overall they are both different games.

Anyone else remember the Super Mario World and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past comics that came out monthly in Nintendo Power back in the day?

They apparently collected all of those monthly comics and combined them into a single novel of 120ish pages for Mario and 170ish for LoZ. My wife got me both as a Christmas present. It’s pretty cool imo. I already went through the Mario one and remembered a lot of it surprisingly. The scenes that is. Gonna go through the LoZ one next!

After I go through this I feel like I need to see if they made one for the Nester ones as well, to complete the collection so to speak lol

@sarothias I remember those well! I have those books from the 90s, they made collections out of them back then too. Still sitting on my bookshelf, lol.

The cover's a little different, but it's definitely the same comic. I always liked the Mario one in particular. ...Ha, now I want to reread them. :)

Hmm... I remember those too, but I'm not sure a collection like that exists.

Haha that’s awesome. Had no idea they made a collection prior also.

Heres the cover currently for the Mario one (which yeah, the Mario one was quite entertaining lol):

edit: I’m doubtful on the Nester as well tbh but eh. I’ll take a look tomorrow and see. I do recall seeing an online archive of it before but that’s it.
