Well?

Here is what I posted on the Politics board, which was deleted and resulted in my suspension:

And here was my unsuccessful appeal:

https://gamefaqs1.cbsistatic.com/user_image/8/3/4/AAaz3wAAAf8S.jpg

I raised this on Hellhole after a lead moderator (Error1355) mentioned that there is a thing known as a 'moderator discretion moderation'. The assertion was that these types of moderations are very rare.

I contested that these types of moderations are not rare on the Politics board, using the above moderation as evidence. When asked to explain how my post was in violation of the rules, in an act of accountability cowardice, the topic was locked.

Do you think perhaps CBS are telling gamefaqs staff to remove certain wrongthink? Not on a post by post basis, but in general. For example, remove any posts that stray from the WHO position on Covid-19? The fact that this moderation was upheld is astonishing.

Thoughts?

There's almost certainly some form of scheming that goes on, whether it's the JournoList type or the kind of collusion that has taken place between platforms to censor certain people. Phase 1 of Wikipedia editing is to get rid of Breitbart links, phase 2 Fox News, and so on. I've been told that there's not a ban on Breitbart here, but just posting a news story can lead to moderation.

When my board was shut down it was revealed by someone who turned out to be a mod alt that they had been working outside the system on a discord to cause problems for my community board for at least 3 months. It doesn't have to be a grand conspiracy. Could just be a few bad mods enforcing their opinions through the moderation system with little oversight. A few former mods had also posted on my board about current mods allegedly violating policy.

I voted 'maybe'. But when I think about the fact that gamefaqs is owned by CBS, I should have voted 'yes'.

As for Breitbart, I was given a warning for posting an article by Ann Coulter on that site, with a note from a Legressive mod stating that posting links to that website is not allowed, and that what she was stating was a lie.

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer debate over silencing opinions.

That is what I was initially thinking, but I find it difficult to reconcile that with the fact that my moderation in the OP failed the appeal process, which apparently involves random moderators voting on it.

No you don't. You prefer posting blatant bulls*** from fake news sites and then troll with this "SiLeNciNg oPiNiOnS" rhetoric when rightfully called out/dismissed. If you didn't, you wouldn't link to breitbart.

Politics board and current events are huge far left echo chambers. No wrong think allowed.

PS4 board had a mix of political opinions but now they've squashed that. Even Sballen stepped in.

Why is gamefaqs so far left these days? Is it zoomers? Makes me worry for the future. Every 2nd topic on ce is orange man bad.
You aren't even really reading my posts; you're just staring at your e-mail client and fondly reminiscing about that hobo you stabbed to death. :P

Same situation where news stories, which were confirmed to be OK by admin in a previous dispute, were modded later anyway. No commentary from me, just news stories that a certain mod doesn't like. They can be reposted in full on more open community boards without penalty. Why this does not apply to the site at large is 100% mod discretion/bias.

Post an example.

But you won't, because you are being dishonest.

idk if they’re “instructed” by CBS, but they do indeed blatantly censor posts that are inconvenient to the overall leftist/globalist/zionist narrative.

I've been assuming that it's just biased mods censoring according to their personal mood swings, but instructions from CBS seems likely enough. There are huge stories that I go to the politics board expecting to see disputed, but there's just nothing there about them at all. On some occasions I see a story posted and it just disappears in minutes. Generally the kinds of things that would really disrupt the circus around there.

And this is why I've never posted more than a single topic to that board. Not worth it.
