Striking a blow for women everywhere by eating power pellets
Another true classic, and one that's still pretty easy to find in arcades due to its seemingly undying popularity: Ms. Pac-Man.
I've always preferred this game to the original Pac-Man for one reason: the patterns in said o.g. Pac-Man are a little too predictable. Ms. Pac-Man turns the difficulty up a notch, and hey, they even named the ghosts: Inky, Blinky, and Clyde. And someone else whose name I've forgotten. Are those names even correct in the first place? Never mind, dammit, all you need to know is that the ghosts have names.
Gameplay is tried and true Pac-formula: Race around the maze, grab the fruit, eat the power pellets in the corner, and go munch some stupid ghosts. Everybody knows this game, and hopefully loves it. This time, your circular yellow blob is wearing a ribbon and has eyelashes, but you should still know what to do.
Or will you? The patterns are far less predictable this time around; you won't earn any high scores by using your old Pac-patterns, and in fact you're likely to be ghost bait if you do use them.
This game, in short, is the best of all possible worlds, unless the idea of a female Pac-Man bothers you for some bizarre, best-left-unexplained reason. If you haven't played it yet (somewhat unlikely) go out and do so right away.
Rating: 5.0 - Flawless
