The original arcade game of Lunar Lander runs on a MOS Technology 6502 central processing unit with discrete circuits for sound. The main motherboard is called the Atari 6502 Vector and uses a horizontal display vector monitor measured at 19 inches.
The game's vector-graphics generator was later used as the basis for Atari's most successful coin-op game, Asteroids.
Approximately 4,830 cabinets of Lunar Lander were produced.
