  • The first EEPROM version of the game released on May 23, 1994 is Proto 5.0 and is missing several features, several speech samples spoken by members of Aerosmith which can be heard after collecting power-ups and has a shorter Pacific Rim level. Revision 1.0 was released on June 16, 1994 and contains the completed software, including crosshair targets for the 2nd and 3rd player.

  • The band members of Aerosmith traveled to Midway Headquarters to further discuss the game's premise and design. Each of the band members recorded video footage and voice recordings to be used in the game. The video footage was captured where the band and other characters stood in front of a blue screen to record their parts, similar to the video capture process used for the Mortal Kombat games, also by Midway. Voice recordings were made in a separate sound booth.
